Brenda Jones Endorses Joe Biden for President
DETROIT – Today, Detroit City Council President and Former Congresswoman Brenda Jones formally endorsed Joe Biden for president. As a leader who is always fighting for her constituents, Former Congresswoman Jones said, “Former Vice President Joe Biden has a proven record of fighting for the people. His solid experience, exemplary leadership, and empathy for the people are the attributes required of our next president in order to bring our country together, so we can recover from the failed policies of the Trump era.”
Jones maintains the issues she supports strongly align with Biden’s such as increasing the minimum wage, affordable housing, paid sick leave, veterans’ issues, and gun control. Former Vice President Biden has stated that health care is personal to him. Likewise, health care is personal for Detroit City Council President Brenda Jones. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Brenda Jones tested positive. Fortunately, Jones did not experience many of the horrific symptoms associated with the coronavirus. Equally as important, Jones considers herself blessed because she has health care coverage. Former Vice President Biden has adamantly pledged to continue to “… build on the Affordable Care Act.” If the people of Michigan’s 13th Congressional District will honor Brenda Jones by returning her to Congress as their Representative, Jones pledges to fight for universal health care for the District’s residents and all Americans – because health care should be an American right not a privilege!

In 2018, Brenda Jones was elected to complete the Honorable John Conyers, Jr.’s term. Despite a brief five-week tenure, Former Congresswoman Jones voted 77 times and sponsored two pieces of legislation while representing the 13th District. Brenda Jones seeks to return to Michigan’s 13th Congressional District because she believes the residents of the District deserve more.
